Parallel Windows
Parallel windows, also known as parallel opening windows, are a type of window that opens by moving the entire window frame outward in a parallel fashion, maintaining equal distance from the wall on all sides. This unique opening mechanism provides ventilation while keeping the window aligned with the wall, which enhances security and weather resistance.
Since the window opens uniformly on all sides, it allows fresh air to enter evenly from every edge, promoting balanced airflow and ventilation. The parallel opening creates a narrow gap that allows airflow without fully exposing the opening, making it harder for intruders to access, compared to casement or sliding windows. The parallel opening design helps shield the interior from direct rain while allowing ventilation, making these windows ideal for areas prone to wet weather.
The gap around the entire perimeter of the window allows even ventilation, which can help cool down rooms more effectively. These windows are often designed with added security features, as the limited opening angle minimizes the risk of intrusion. The design allows for ventilation even during light rain without letting water in, which is beneficial in areas with frequent rain. Many parallel windows come with excellent sealing and insulation, helping maintain indoor temperature and reducing energy consumption.
